At Your Service: Amanda Strandt, Executive Chef at Mr. B's Brookfield

April 30, 2018

When did you join the Bartolotta team?

I started in 2010 as a line cook as part of the opening staff of Harbor House. From there I’ve worked at The Rumpus Room, Joey Gerard’s in Greendale and Mequon, Northpoint, Lake Park Bistro and Bacchus. I’m excited to be moving to Mr. B’s - A Bartolotta Steakhouse in Brookfield at the end of April.

What are some of your favorite things to cook in the kitchen?

I'm all about comfort food and anything with chicken. I jokingly refer to family meals I make as “100 ways to cook chicken,” but each one is super delicious and tasty. I’ve recently started getting into Indian food and things with more spice, so I’ve been playing around with that at home. At the restaurant, I love experimenting with techniques and different foods I haven’t worked with before - potato churros, for example, which I’m working on for our upcoming Bartolotta's Wonder Women event.

What are you looking forward to in the coming months at the company?

I'm looking forward to leading a kitchen at Mr. B’s - A Bartolotta Steakhouse in Brookfield and to all the fun, amazing events coming up.

What do you like to do when you are not taking care of guests?

I love spending time with my family. My daughter is almost one year old, so I’m looking forward to doing all the fun things this summer like the zoo and exploring parks around the city.
