“(My) wines are the result of hard work and the constant search for singularity where the smallest detail can become all-important.” - Alain Brumont

Dine with us as French winemaker Alain Brumont showcases his highly lauded and superb Madrian and Gascogne wines at Bartolotta’s Lake Park Bistro on Tuesday, April 25.

Alain Brumont is a soft-spoken, undemonstrative man who has been part of winemaking since he took over Chateau Bouscasse, his family’s wine estate, in 1979.

In 1990, he discovered a stretch of land which was growing the Tannat grape. This grape is essential to Madiran wines. Over the years, Alain Brumont has worked diligently to cultivate these grapes and in turn, has created his own style. The result is wines full of dark tannins with a considerable ability to age. They are balanced, concentrated and touched by spice and toastiness from aging in new wood.

Wine expert Robert Parker called Brumont’s wines “unreal wines that are purely made…so promising that they cannot be ignored.”
