The Restaurant Services Maintenance Supervisor oversees and provides service for all onsite installation, repair, and maintenance needs within The Bartolotta Restaurants. 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Trains and/or oversees service technicians.

  • Schedules service technicians, assigning roles based on experience and skills.

  • Supervises work product from service technicians.

  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive. 

  • Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with restaurant policy.


  • Collaborates with unit leadership in designing daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning and functional monitoring of equipment to ensure optimal performance and lifespan.

  • Properly troubleshoots, diagnoses, and manages repairs of commercial cooking, refrigeration, and/or HVAC equipment.

  • Operates, maintains, and manages repairs of heating and cooling equipment including boilers, heat pumps, air handlers, exhaust fans, etc.

  • Manages preventative maintenance/repair work schedule on buildings, site, and equipment to ensure it is working properly and in compliance with all safety guidelines.

  • Provides highest level of service to the units and professionally communicates the service needed to staff.

  • Defines/Diagnoses service problems, collects data, establishes facts, and draws valid conclusions about the work to be performed.

  • Responds to and appropriately manages emergency service requests.

  • Maintains accurate records of maintenance and service performed.

  • Consults with Vendors to get parts ordered for repairs and in support of preventative maintenance practices.

  • Communicates with manufacturers as needed to help with diagnosing problems with equipment.

  • Installs all parts ordered for the customer in a timely and professional manner.

  • Follows safe work practices and accident prevention procedures.

  • Maintains a neat and orderly truck, along with accurate part and tool inventory.

  • Maintains productivity levels in accordance with company standards.

  • Consults with manufacturers, sales reps, dealers, and customers as needed to ensure cost and service efficiency.

  • Establishes maintenance shop protocols, inventory system, and practices to ensure clean, orderly, and workable

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Demonstrated skills in effective leadership.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage projects, schedules, and timelines.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Certification/Education/Licensed in HVAC preferred.

  • Electrical, plumbing, and building control systems experience a plus.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Successful completion of on-the-job training.

  • At least five years of experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to climb stairs and ladders.

  • Requires walking, standing, driving, sitting, squatting, kneeling, reaching overhead, bending, twisting, and turning for prolonged periods of time.

  • Must be able to use hands for fine manipulation of hand tools.

  • Moderate to heavy lifting and carrying (up to 75 pounds).

  • Must have a good driving record with proof of insurance.

  • Weekend and on-call availability required.
