Position Summary:

Responsible for performing HR-related duties and responsibilities in the following functional areas: employee onboarding, benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, unemployment, affirmative action and employment law compliance.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintains and processes all Unemployment Notices of Entitlement and potential charges in a timely manner. Attends unemployment hearings when necessary.
  • Manages and tracks employee new hire paperwork; onboarding materials and paperwork with great accuracy and efficiency.
  • Manages and maintains employee personnel files; disciplinary notes; benefit forms.
  • Maintains compliance with USCIS Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verifications.
  • Manages Employment Verification of Earnings requests; documents and correspondences relating to current and past employee records.
  • Manages and coordinates the Employee Referral Bonus Program.
  • Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from database.
  • Assists in the evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed.
  • Assist Payroll & Benefits Specialist with monitoring employee eligibility for benefit plans. Assists HR Team with open enrollment; communication, training and election decisions.
  • Assists with processing weekly and bi-weekly payroll schedules.
  • Assists with Workers Compensation claims.
  • Maintains complete confidentiality with employee records, compensation and company information.

Position Summary:

The controller will directly supervise the day-to-day operations of the accounting team and will have primary oversight of the preparation of the monthly financial statements for all units of the Bartolotta Restaurant Group.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

He/she will:

  • Actively direct and oversee the preparation and issuing of financial statements, tax returns and supporting schedules as required by various ownership groups, municipalities and/or agreements (management, debt, etc.).
  • Support multiple restaurant operations in a wide range of accounting and financial reporting and analytical activities.
  • Recommend opportunities as necessary to ensure units meet or exceed targeted performance.
  • Work with units, accounting staff and executive team members to ensure sufficient controls, processes and procedures to: (a) maintain compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and (b) produce accurate and timely financial information and (c) assist in developing and implementing efficiencies.

ESSSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Act as a financial resource on a consistent basis, collaborating with field personnel, department heads and accounting team in discovering creative solutions to improve overall business processes and performance.

Oversees accounting personnel, including training and development.

Direct the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations, and other schedules.

Assist with the development of new standard operating procedures (SOP’s).

Leverage systems to improve processes, condense closing cycle, and provide analysis.

Work collaboratively with field management staff on all finance and accounting related matters.

Oversees and ensures the effective performance of all accounting functions, including receivables, payables, revenue and financial reporting.

Implements and adheres to generally accepted accounting principles.

Creates and maintains accounting safeguards and protocols to ensure confidentiality and safety of accounting records and monetary resources.

Position Requirements:

Four-year Accounting degree required. CPA designation and/or advanced degree desired.

5-10 years Accounting/Finance experience.

Multi-unit, hospitality, real estate or service industry experience preferred.

Prior supervisory experience.

Working knowledge of financial statements and GAAP concepts.

  • 5. Maintain current and accurate reporting.
  • Write effective schedules taking into account budgeting targets, service levels & employee needs.
  • Conduct timely performance evaluations for all staff.
  • Manage paperwork flow-sales sheets, labor tracking invoices, HR paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
