IT Desktop Support Technician

Reporting to the IT Administrator, the Desktop Support Technician will provide the first point of contact and support for all IT requests and issues submitted by the staff of the Bartolotta Restaurants (which includes 17 locations across Milwaukee). The ideal individual will have the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations, with strong written and verbal communication, time management, problem-solving/resolution strategies, organizational skills, and the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities while providing front line computing support.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Provide remote and desktop, in-person, support

  • Vet, prioritize, escalate and close help desk tickets

  • Support Windows and Mac Operating systems

  • Manage assets including setup, imaging, virus and malware remediation, and documentation

  • Welcome and onboard new employees with accounts and computing devices

  • Support and manage multi-function printers, mobile phones, and tablets

  • Support Point of Sale (POS) systems and services

  • Support user accounts and Identity Management

  • Maintain IDMs and MDFs

  • Other work and projects as assigned

Technical Experience

  • At least 2 years working in a similar role

  • Required experience with:

    • Advanced working experience with Windows and Apple Operating Systems, required.

    • Hardware break/fix, mobile device support for tablets, smartphones, general troubleshooting of voice and data networks, required.

    • Help desk ticketing and documentation.

    • Troubleshooting multifunction and standalone print devices

  • Preferred experience with:

    •  Point of sale, PCI compliance, working inside an IDM, MDF

Relationship Skills

  • Transportation for onsite work at multiple locations.

  • Able to adjust quickly to a fast pace environment.

Education

  • Associates Degree in Information Technology

    • Or at least 5 years of working experience with progression

  • Comptia A+ Certified

    • Or similar work experience and qualifications

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and move objects weighing 50 pounds or less.

  • Able to sit or stand for long periods throughout the day.

  • Use hands to handle, control, and manage tools of work.
