Get healthier choices without sacrificing a great night out

If you are ringing in the New Year with a resolution or if you just want to enjoy some lighter fare after the holidays, Bartolotta’s has many dishes and drinks that are both delicious and healthy! We have come up with recommendations from a few of the restaurants as well as ideas for how to stay healthy while dining with us.

Veggies Galore
Bacchus is one of a few restaurants in the city that offers an entirely vegetarian menu. Many of the vegetables are locally sourced and often change according to the season. Try the spinach salad to start with the tofu entrée for a hearty meal that is also kind to the waistline.

Scrumptious Seafood
Seafood is the highlight at Harbor House and one of the best options for anyone looking for lighter calorie fare that is still flavorful. Shrimp, lobster, oysters, and crab are all menu items that are packed with protein. Try oysters that are own in fresh daily and are loaded with Vitamin C and iron. There is no shortage of fresh fish and shellfish on the menu, including steamed salmon, high in Omega-3 fatty acids or Lobster Tail, loaded with vitamins and amino acids.

Divine Wine
Eating healthy doesn’t mean limiting all of the things that make dining out pleasurable, including alcohol. Red wine is full of antioxidants and one to two glasses a day can be good for heart health. Luckily, our restaurants have hundreds of bottles to choose from including bottles from all over the world!

Lovely Lentils
French bistros are not a typical choice for a healthy meal, but Lake Park Bistro offers a lentil dish that is chock-full of nutritious ingredients. Lentils are hearty and filling and contain virtually no fat and are filled with minerals and vitamins. Lentils du Puy includes lentils, carrots, mushrooms and an arugula salad that is the perfect comfort food.

Curb your Carbs
Kick carbs to the curb by asking your server to hold off on the bread basket and substitute a side of veggies for your French fries. There are also plenty of carb-free entree options at all of the restaurants. At Bacchus, try the Yellow Fin Tuna entree served with a side of bok choy or choose from a variety of steaks on the menu at Mr. B’s, just to name a few!
