Keep it Chill

The holidays are over, the decorations are put away and resolutions are underway. It is this time of year where drinks like hot toddies, eggnog, and Champagne are purchased and then promptly put away until the next year. However, before you bottle up that bubbly, we recommend considering Champagne as more than just a special occasion beverage.

What is Champagne?

Champagne is a sparkling wine, not to be confused with Prosecco or Cava. The primary grapes used are Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, and Chardonnay that come from the Champagne region of France. Champagne goes through a process of secondary fermentation leading to a distinct flavor profile that ranges from very dry to
sweet and suits a variety of styles.

Why Champagne?

Besides the fact that Champagne will make you feel elegant, even when pouring it while in your pajamas, the high acid and effervescence make it a great pair with plenty of dishes from appetizers to desserts.
Our resident sommelier, Katie Espinosa, recommends it with eggs in the morning or with
steak at dinner. While Champagne is typically a
bit higher in price it will add a sparkle the next
time you host a dinner party or want a chance to brighten up your weekend morning routine!

Trust us, you won’t regret it.
