Notice of Temporary Closure
Throughout our shared history, we have been able to overcome adversity and tragedy by coming together as a family and a community. Although this virus demands that we physically separate, it cannot stop us from uniting in spirit. The Bartolotta Restaurants has always set “a place at the table for you,” now we are asking that you “keep a place at the table for us.”
Last month I made the painful and difficult decision to cease operations, including curbside service, at all Bartolotta Restaurants starting after service on March 19, 2020, and until further notice. We know we need to be part of the solution and lead by example in our community. We hope our actions show we care deeply for our employees and encourage more people to stay home. We believe this is the best course of action for your safety, the safety of your families, and the safety of our employees. Additionally, we are taking steps to ensure that our employees and their families have the food and the benefits they need to manage through this difficult time.
With that, I am asking you to please join us in supporting the incredible family of Bartolotta employees who have served this community for so long. As we cease operations at our restaurants and catering facilities, we are taking action to ensure these amazing people, and their families, can continue to put food on the table during this unprecedented time.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
You can support The Bartolotta Restaurants family of employees by purchasing gift cards to any of our restaurants as those funds will be applied to help us be positioned to reopen. When the light at the end of the tunnel becomes visible, we will be here – ready and eager – to welcome you. We promise to have a “place at the table for you” once this is over and we can break bread together again.
If you can, we would also love for you to join us in supporting our employees via the official Bartolotta Restaurants GoFundMe campaign. These donations will ensure that our workers can endure the economic fallout of this virus.
HERE IS WHAT WE ARE DOING
The Bartolotta Restaurants employs more than 950 people in the Milwaukee area. Although we are closing our restaurants, we will continue to strive to support them and their families for as long as it is feasible. Currently:
We extended medical benefits through April 30, 2020.
We are distributing food supply to our employees, so they can continue to feed themselves and their families
We have kept salaried employees for as long as it was possible.
This situation is constantly changing, and we are taking a day-by-day approach evaluating our operations. We want to be up and running again as soon as possible, and we will continue to update you as the picture becomes clearer.
You have supported us for 27 years. We remain forever grateful for YOUR support in the past and even more so now in the weeks and months to come. We realize that you may be going through some hardships as well and if supporting us financially is not available for you at the moment, we completely understand. Regardless, we stand united in our belief that we will come out of this tunnel stronger still. Until then, please take care of yourselves and your families.
